How do I create an Endowus account? (HK)

Creating an account is easy and can be done entirely online in just a few minutes.

Option 1: Online Onboarding via iAM Smart (Recommended)

Step 1: Create an account here or download the Endowus mobile application via Google Playstore (Android) or App Store (iOS). Select your account region by clicking on the country flag on the top right corner of the site or app. 

There are no fees for opening an account.

Step 2: Select Verify your identity with “iAM Smart” to fill in the form with your details retrieved from iAM Smart. Note: Ensure that you have downloaded the iAM Smart application on your mobile device.

Users who verify their identities with iAM Smart will not be required to provide:
(i) HKID proof of identity 

(ii) HKD 10k deposit

Step 3: Complete the risk profile assessment. This is to ensure that we can offer you the most suitable investment solutions on our platform for your risk profile.

Step 4: Upload supporting documents if required. 

Option 2: Online Onboarding via manual form-filling

Step 1: Create an account here or download the Endowus mobile application via Google Playstore (Android) or App Store (iOS). Select your account region by clicking on the country flag on the top right corner of the site or app. 

There are no fees for opening an account.

Step 2: Select Or verify your information manually to fill in the form 

Step 3: Upload supporting documents if required.

Step 4: Complete identity verification by 

EITHER

A. Making one single initial deposit of at least HK$10,000 from a Hong Kong bank account in your name (single name account only). This is required as per the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) regulations. There are no lock-ups on our platform and you can withdraw the funds any time after onboarding.

Note: As part of our Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policy, we cannot accept deposits transferred from a third party, including bank accounts that belong to your family members and friends. By the same token, we cannot accept deposits transferred from a joint name account to a single name account.

Please ensure that the name on the bank account you are sending your deposit from matches the name on your Endowus account. Third party transfers will be rejected, and it may take up to 2 months for the funds to be returned to the remitter’s bank account and will incur a rejection fee of HKD 250.

B. In-person Onboarding (Verify in our office)

Step 1: Schedule an appointment with our client advisor via the onboarding page

Step 2: Visit our office with the following documents:

  • Identification Document (e.g. HK Permanent ID card for HK residents, Valid passport for foreign residents)
  • Bank Account Supporting Document (e.g. Bank account statement as of the latest 3 months or ATM card showing full name and bank account number) 

If you don’t have a Hong Kong bank account or got stuck and need a little help, please contact us at support.hk@endowus.com.

It will take approximately 3-5 business days for us to process and open your Endowus account. Once it is opened, you will receive an email from us informing you that your Endowus account is ready for investing.
