Yes, you may open a joint account!
A joint account is a standalone, unique account that cannot be linked to your existing individual Endowus account. Each Endowus account - whether individual or joint - requires separate login details and must be registered with a unique email address (email alias is accepted).
Here are some things to take note of:
- Joint Account Holder 1 will be set as the default Primary User of the Endowus Joint Account.
- Endowus Joint Account will operate with a single account log-in which comprises the email address and mobile number of Joint Account Holder 1.
- The Client Risk Assessment (“CRA”) and suitability assessment of the Endowus Joint Account will be assessed based on the information provided by Joint Account Holder 1, Endowus will assume represents both Joint Account Holders for the purposes of the Endowus Joint Account. If there are differences in risk tolerance or suitability assessment between the Joint Account Holders, we recommend taking a more conservative approach.
How to open a Joint Account
- Please decide on the Joint Account Holder 1 (Primary User) and Joint Account Holder 2.
- Both account holders need to complete onboarding online. Do not make any initial deposits from individual bank accounts at this point.
- Fill out and sign the Joint Account Authorisation Letter.
- Make an initial deposit (HK$10k or more) from a joint HK bank account to the Primary User's Endowus account
- Send the signed authorisation letter to support.hk@endowus.com and let the team know when all the steps above are completed.

What is an email alias?
An email alias is a forwarding address. All emails addressed to the alias are forwarded to a specified account.
For example, your user email address for your individual Endowus account abc@gmail.com. You can sign up for a joint Endowus account with the email alias abc+endowus@gmail.com. Our system will recognise abc+endowus@gmail.com as a unique user email address, and all the email notifications will be sent to your inbox at abc@gmail.com.
